VINTAGE PIELS REAL DRAFT PREMIUM BEER SIGN.
Piel's was originally founded in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York. After a long history they closed in 1973. The brand is now owned by Pabst. In 1955 the fictitious Piel's Bros owners Bert and Harry appeared as part of their clever advertising. (like Sesame Streets Bert and Ernie). I purchased a bunch of vintage N.Y. Piel's beer memorabilia from a retired collector. Trays, cans, bottles, coasters and lots of signs and lights. Please see other listings. This is a plastic over cardboard sign. 1959. Over 60 years old. Instant Refreshment. Usually found broken in several places. This one is pretty clean. Great used condition with only minor wear. Stains and a few minor cracks can be seen. The blue part looks a bit washed out maybe. The front of the bar. A dial on either side for adjusting opening/closing times. Bert can be seen raising the shades in the morning while Harry is having an after closing cocktail. Very nice looking piece. It is over 60 years old. Fragile. Rare. Measures approximately 15-1/2 x 13-1/2. Item
