Interior View Artistic Medal RARE!
At age 73 I have started looking through my belongings to pass on.
I had totally forgotten this piece since finding it
about 40+ years ago in an old burn pit.
It had apparently been burned and had that black charred finish
you would expect to see on it.
I recall cleaning it as best I could and (having traveled myself)
was absolutely delighted with it!
Because it meant so much to me and was hard to see the detail,
I recall paying a local artist (- ?)
to
do a drawing of it
as shown in photos and which will be incuded with it's sale.
In the days before internet, there was not a way to research it
which is why I stored and forgot about it.
Fast forward......I have searched the net for days in search of it's
origination.....to no avail!
HOWEVER, I did locate an old postcard (photo shown)
with what appears to be it's most
accurate depiction.
It is about 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" in size.
Made of (my guess ) a pot metal.....it is not silver for certain.
It has slight curvature to the back, indicating it may have been
applied to something like
a glass or metal ceremonial vessel.
My "buy price" may be way too high or possibly way too low.
