I'm currently listing a large number of playbills from out-of-town tryouts prior to the Broadway runs. Many are from early performances when revisions were common and include song titles that were cut before opening in New York. (See cut song below.) ....... This is a rare July 1974 "Performing Arts" program from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the JERRY HERMAN and MICHAEL STEWART musical romance "MACK & MABEL" at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. (The production would open October 6th, 1974 at the Majestic Theatre in New York City and close after only 66 performances.) ..... Based on Mack Sennett's funny and fabulous Hollywood, the musical starred ROBERT PRESTON and BERNADETTE PETERS and featured LISA KIRK, JERRY DODGE, CHRISTOPHER MURNEY, TOM BATTEN, BERT MICHAELS, NANCY EVERS, ROBERT FITCH, STANLEY SIMMONDS and JAMES MITCHELL ..... CUT SONG: The list of musical numbers includes "Hit 'Em on the Head" which was cut out-of-town ..... NOTE: The scanned pages are printed on a brown stock and are not discolored .....
