Description

I have for sale a souvenir silk ribbon from the 1901 Pan-American exposition that was held in Buffalo, New York.  The ribbon is 11 inches long by 2 5/8 inches wide.  It is still on the original merchant paper.  It is uncirculated but it has issues.  At the top it reads PAN AMERICAN EXPOSITIO.  It then shows a black eagle standing on a flag shield with flags to the side.  Under the flags in black it shows the Electric Tower with the name below.  At the bottom it reads BUFFALO NY 1901.  It then has a red tassel.  The top merchant card reads ALLEN CHESTERS - PATERSON, N.J. - MANUFACTURER OF - ILLUMINATED PURE SILK BOOK MARKERS - BADGES, WOVEN PICTURES, ETC - PAN-AMERICAN EXPOSITION - BUFFALO, N.Y.  On the paper it is watermarked MOHAWK LEDGER.  Now the issues: The ribbon was folded at the eagle as you can see in the pictures and there is a 5/8 inch tear from the edge to just past the two stars.  There is another 3/4 inch tear on the right side in the black area near the top of the Electric Tower.  Also about Pan American there are three separate tiny tears.  The red tassel at the bottom it loose.  Even with those problems its still a nice ribbon.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE COLLECTABLES.  (17,302)
